Update 1.3.0

Lost Cargo

Since update 1.3.0 the merchant sometimes loses a cargo crate on one of the islands. Each crate below shows what it holds, the recipe it unlocks, what you need before it can drop and where it can land.

Drop interval: 2 in-game days

Contents, requirements, islands and the drop interval are the game's own Lost Cargo data. The game gives the crates no names, so each is titled after what it contains. How the game counts airship level is not documented.
